Description
This jigsaw puzzle has been cut by hand from 5-ply Maple ¼" thick plywood.  The image is the centerpiece of a rectangular mandala from the "Celestial Gallery" series of Tibetan spiritual mandalas, and is incredibly intricate and colorful.  You can learn more about these fantastic mandalas at www.mandala.org. The image has been mounted with archival adhesive onto the plywood base. The puzzle is 10.5" in diameter, with 295 small pieces, and due to the 4-way near-symmetry will be rather tricky for its size. The puzzle has been cut with a scroll saw using extremely fine blades just .007" thick. These blades are the thinnest that can in practice be used to cut the dense ¼" plywood. Even so, the blades break frequently while cutting. The combination of thin blade, thick plywood and fully-interlocking pieces results in a puzzle that is very tightly cut, so that when assembled it can with care be lifted and turned over without any pieces falling out. The puzzle is supplied unassembled in a sturdy plywood box that will keep it safely for many years to come. I make the boxes with the same care and precision with which I cut my puzzles. No picture is supplied, so that jigsaw enthusiasts can work through the solution the hard way! If you suspect that you will need the help of a picture, you should print this page before it disappears from eBay. WARNING! This puzzle is not recommended for young children, as the small pieces could present a choking hazard.
