The character became a favorite of readers. In 1932, an animated cartoon featuring Popeye was made by Paramount Studios. Popeye's Big Band with Musical Instruments and drum major baton was introduced by Bar Zim Toy Company in 1933. The graphics of the box cover are spectacular if not the best ever. Popeye, Olive Oyl,Whimpy and Sweet Pea are illustrated holding one of the instrumnents. The instruments have never been removed from the box inserts.                                                           Condition is excellent to mint !
