The Gates on these crossings go down as the train approaches and then back up after the train passes! If that were not cool enough, there are also FOUR short slot car track pieces that are wired up to the crossing gates and when the gates go down the POWER IS CUT OFF to the slot car track stopping any on coming slot cars dead in thier tracks... until the gates go back up! Then power is automatically restored and the slot cars can continue on thier way! MARX is the only HO Scale Slot Car / Train set maker that had this wonderful LIFE LIKE crossing gate scheme!
