The Schoenhut wood joint character from the Max Fleischer cartoon series of KO-KO (or KOKO) the Clown. Circa 1920's. All original cloth clown suit, with intact collar, sleeve and cuff yellow/gold stitching. The circular buttons have been restored/replaced with appropriate size buttons, felt painted and sanded and aged to color match. An outstanding presentation piece, and a key figure in the Schoenhut line. He is missing his long cloth patent and id label, but that does not detract from display and desireablility. I have had this in a closed glass shadow box for years, so he has had appropriate protection from everyday dust and lighting. He has been re-strung, so his suit has been removed carefully and re-stiched at the neck.   No holes, moth or otherwise anywhere. Clean and original.   Close up of face to show the original face painting, and the cool hair curl that is under his hat. Light facial crazing, but expected with its age. There may have been a very tiny red paint touch-up on his nose? Otherwise very all original. Hat retains original nail to hold cap on his head.
